"Resolutions for 2006" bis

As I told you before, the list (cf. post : "Resolutions for 2006" on monday, january 3rd, 2006) is subject to changes. In fact, I forgot to add some important issues that have to be treated this year.
The first one, is that I'm trying to be vegetarian, which is one of the toughest decisions, and this for many reasons. I will surely discuss them later.
The second one, is meditation. I'm willing to meditate on a daily regular basis, which is, with the schedule I have, appears to be difficult. On the other hand, sticking to meditation will boost my creativity and help me coping better with my schedule since one of the objective of meditaion is "Do less and accomplish more".
Anyway, that's all for now concerning my resolutions for 2006. Some of my friends have noticed that, with these resolutions, I will be even more boring than I am. Well, what do you think?

why do u care what other think about u? just have selective hearing ..... that might help . i personally think you did agreat job by taking actions to change something and make a difference thats good for a start , if others have a problem with you being boring they can stick their head in the hole and that would do some good to them hehehheh .... take care

Thank you for the comment and advice. In fact, I'm willing to sacrifice the first few months of this year because I'm trying to adopt the new "boring" lifestyle which is of course temporary but will have long term and sustainable effects. It's this concept of sustainability that I find really crucial for any plan or action.

Boring! it’s being wearingly dull... Its not the fault of the situation that we try to blame but it exists within us, we feel time is crawling like a snail and we simply don’t have control over it. The more we think we’re bored, the more we reassure of its control over our lives.

If boredom is momentary then it’s ok , but when it dwells in our lives and takes its share of the game then it becomes a problem. Have you asked yourself if your depressed? usually one of the signs and symptoms of depression is boredom and not being interested in activities that used to give you pleasure previously .

Boredom for me is being around people that I can’t tolerate more then a second, and to be forced to deal with for hours would kill me the most. But then again I convince that it’s just temporary, at the end of the day they won’t be there hehheh.....

You know what can help, try to engage in new activities, meet new people, put a target and try organizing yourself to get the big picture in the frame, cause ambition is antidote of boredom, at least it helped me from the claws of depression, I know people are unique and different in their behaviors, thoughts and actions; but if it helped me it might do some good to you.

Cheer up man it’s not the end of the world, not yet.....

The fact is that i'm not that depressed these days. I've been through worse moments than today and more depressive ones. Although I'm not really enjoying my days in this specific period of my life and the life of every person (the 20's) where we should be in the peak in terms of productivity. On the other hand, I'm acting according to your advice (searching for new activities). In fact, all my life, I've been through processes of searching for activities that fit the most my personnality, skills and abilities. In fact it's a search for identity. Maybe this is the reason why I created this blog. (the slogan of the blog in french shows this)take care

Anonyme a dit…

Searching for identity....it all dates back to one’s childhood and upbringing. The baby usually identifies himself with his parents, when he become teenager, he develops a feeling of belongingness to some group, his identity is shaped by his peer group and the influence that peers have on him.after which he get into the trap of choosing how much he wants to identify with others and be like them or just take a deviant path and create his own unique start-point. Life is all about choices, the paths you cross the decisions you take make all the difference. There are lots of other factors that interfere in building one’s own identity: political parties a person belongs to, culture he lives in, gender he possesses, educational level he has, long list....but you gotta draw a line where to stop outside influence on you .

I know its hard to live in a society where people judge you according to the culture you belong to, the color you possess, and beliefs you cherish, its hard to survive in this jungle, you can either join the circus and be like them, or start to create your own self and be a unique person inspite that people may think otherwise, you must be convinced of what you believe in....

one shouldn't wear masks and try to disguise himself just to please others to fit in.... People should accept them the way they are and if they don’t it’s their problem ....

As to how you’ll find your identity just think, act; behave the way you are without any constraints, any barriers or limitations ... Start living life, your life not someone else’s.....without obligations (do-s and don’t-s)......

Sometimes religious ideas and the scientific world can create a discrepancy and a paradox in one’s thinking and clashes occur, one has to weight which is valued for him and which is a part of his identity

gush i talk a lot sorry if i'm giving you a headache.... i just wanna tell you that i really hate giving advice, and the whole concept of advice is not my cup of coffee. just telling you what i think it's totally my own perception and ofcourse there are others who totally disagree with my point of view . again i am repeating i hate giving advice and never do or listen to .....

yes u're right abt the first point. I believe too that the child is the father of the man (in psychology)and every trait in our character, our identity or sexual tendency is routed in the past, in our childhood when we were exposed to many experiences in life.
Abt the advice, i never give and listen too but sometimes I think remorsefully that I should have listened to this advice or that one.

i feel like you should do whatever you feel like , so that in the future you don't say "what if ...."
so how about you, what went wrong concerning your life? what provoked all these? what you think you need in life to change all this ? i mean i gave my point of view you still didn't convey your own .... what do you think interfered in your specific case ? what was the precipitating factor for all this .... it has to start somewhere right ? i'm asking your own opinion.....

It seems that I picture my life in a catastrophic and dramatic way. Well, I can assure u. It's not that catastrophic but it's not the life that I was expecting to have. I know you can't get all what you want in life. What went wrong with me in life? I think, as u already sait, life is all about choices. We can make a bad choice that can drastically change our fate. But sometimes, we can discover that the choice we made wasn't that bad. I don't know, I'm feeling that I'm saying meaningless phrases.

Ceteris Paribus a dit…

Nice Blog… . I just wanted to say that the phrases your saying are not meaningless..
I think that’s what life is about… Making horrible decisions then realizing that they weren’t that bad after all. An even bigger struggle is awaiting for you the next day.. So today prepares you for that feat…. And once we deal with an every crazier problem we tend to realize that what you thought was horrible on Monday… does not seem so bad on Friday..
Maybe the reason why you think that they are meaningless phrases is because your mind has not sorted everything out.
Well I hope you follow through with your resolutions and Im eager to hear the reasons why you have decided to be a vegetarian..
Good Luck!!!

no way !!!don't you dare say that, stop underestimating yourself man !!! the choices you made went out to be wrong but this is life we can't expect always to make the right choices ... we do mistakes to learn from life and develop immunity for the days to come.... there's this great song that i adore "My way" i know it's old but it's so applicable to me just listen it again you'll see that whatever he says makes lot of sense .... it's better to make mistakes and learn from it but at the end of the day you can say with your head up that whatever you did was with your pure efforts , was YOUR WAY, that's the unique thing about it.

hey vegi guy heheheh .....
my friend decided to become a vegiterian because her boyfriend made her get discussted of meat and now she doesn't even chew stimorol cause it includes animal gelatin in it heheheh

zizou from Djerba a dit…

I don't think that it has to do with Boredom ! you just want to try a new lifestyle and you are free to do it !
I support you my dear friend and I hope you will enjoy it !

nobilis tobilis a dit…

In fact the topic of the post, as zizou mentioned, was the change of lifestyle however the debate deviated from the main thread but was very useful and interesting, at least for me. I will be posting later some of the ideas that went in these comments, in my way ;). By the way, nice nick ceteris paribus. Coincidence, I'm reading an article discussing how culture, as an independent variable does influence the demographic behaviour, as a dependent variable and the causal link between these 2 variables. And abt being vegetarian, I didn't manage to be one yet since it's very difficult to get rid of a habit we've lived with all our life.
